Each year, the Reading and Writing Project offers a series of one-day workshops—formerly called "Calendar Conference Days"—for teachers and administrators. TCRWP workshops are held at Teachers College from 9am-2:30pm and focus on topics such as reading, writing, phonics, content-area literacy, data-based assessments and so forth. The workshops are tailored to specific grade levels, K-8, and are staffed by TCRWP leaders as well as national literacy leaders. Over 150 days are offered each year.
Please note: workshops are available to anyone who is interested but have limited space.
The TCRWP has found that one of the most powerful ways to develop expertise is to bring dedicated people together in long-lasting study groups. The TCRWP supports more than 40 study groups each semester. Our Study Groups include Leadership Groups, Specialty Groups, Literacy Coach Groups, Principals as Curricular Leaders Conference Days, and the Assistant Principals Project. Study groups are available to schools who receive our on-site staff development.
